Um dos pioneiros da música eletrônica, Giorgio Moroder foi o único produtor musical a ganhar um oscar de melhor trilha sonora pelo filme "Expresso da meia-noite" de 1978 hoje um clássico do cinema mundial. Considerado um alquimista do som ele reinventou o modo de produzir ao implantar o teclado "moog" em suas músicas. Surgiu em meio a era disco nos anos 70, passou pelos 80s com diversas produções musicais e parcerias de sucesso como a com o vocalista do grupo "The Human League Philip Oakey" e até hoje suas produções são um marco dentro da música eletrônica.
